The report specifically explores the role that technology plays in a mum's/child's world and the impact - good or bad - that it might have on potential quality time. Ultimately, identifying the challenges mums face connecting with children in today's world, and offering advice and tips from Dr Pat Spungin, child psychologist and family life specialist, to help create positive energy in their homes.

- Don't leave the room when your kids go to play their latest video game then join in!
- Consoles like Nintendo Wii, Playstation Move and Xbox Kinect are great for shared play
- When your children ask a question about their homework, spend time surfing the net for the answer together
- Avoid having a TV in a kid's bedroom and make TV watching a shared family activity
